Galactic Cats: Psychedelic Illustrations Merge Cats And Space

Published 4 days ago
Are your cats full of galactic space? No? Must be one of those off-brand models, unlike these ‘Galactic Cats’ by Jen Bartel. To put it simply, these are portraits of cats overlaid on images of space. The drawings are done in psychedelic (or cyberpunk, even) colors that invoke the feeling of, well, intergalactic space (or, rather, the shiny and colorful things floating in there).
Jen Bartel’s forte is illustration, graphic design, and character design. “I grew up in Seoul, South Korea, where I spent the majority of my time consuming cartoons and Asian media of the 90’s and early 2000’s,” Bartel writes on her website. “My work is heavily informed by my childhood interests and experiences.”

Surreal Photo Manipulation By Photographer Dariusz Klimczak

Published 2 years ago
Polish photographer Dariusz Klimczak composes dreamlike landscapes that hypnotize with their surprise and weirdness. The photographer’s digital photo manipulations open the door to his imaginative world, where a desolate desert is brought to life by quirky and playful characters. Everyday items clash in odd compositions with animals and humans, conflicting with gravity and the other physical laws without which our common sense would collapse.
Dariusz Klimczak has been a professional photographer for 30 years, a few of which he spent creating photo manipulations. The artist prefers monochromatic images – the fantastic scenes look even more authentic and mystical at the same time  when they’re black and white.
